Colt V Electric Sailplane
The Colt V is a high performance electric version of the popular Opus slope glider. This is first and formost an electric sailplane but it makes a great slope ship as well. The RG-14 airfoil makes it a rocket and the well thought out design and planform makes it an easy plane to fly. The Colt V is an all hollow molded plane and is painted in the mold. The finish rivals the best in the business. Radio and powerplant installation is all that is required to get the Colt V in the air.
The COLT V is the result of Pavel Sramek's extensive experience with the COLT/COLT 2/CALIF and OPUS V. During the design and construction all positive characteristics of the entire series were maintained and united in the COLT V. Wing geometry was maintained over the entire development period. The straight elliptical wingtips and the small V-tail worked satisfactorily in all tested flight conditions. Modifications were only made concerning the attachment on the fuselage. The fuselage was extended in front of the wing to accommodate lighter engines. (brushless!). The V-control unit is optimized concerning resistance and weight.
